Preschool Emergency Alert Response Learning System (PEARLS)

The PEARLS team will share valuable training, providing awareness and exposure to a new way of thinking, including options for acting in threatening circumstances by:

• Providing tools and resources for training staff, children, and educators
• Teaching concepts of Evacuation, Lockdown with Barricade, and Countering
• Training staff to evaluate environments, potential dangers, foster discussions, and encourage planning
• Providing knowledge for more effective decision-making in dangerous situations
• Encouraging collaboration with law enforcement to mitigate risk, shorten episodes, and save lives
• Promoting communication with children and parents to establish preparation and protection as priorities
