Why Quality Care Matters

Quality early learning is more than just supervision. It’s about finding a safe, nurturing environment where children can grow socially, emotionally, and academically. The programs we support meet or exceed important standards for health, safety, and early education, giving families peace of mind and children the best, most exciting possible start.

Whether you’re navigating child care costs, searching for financial assistance, or exploring early learning options, we’re here to help make the process clearer and easier every step of the way.

Finding the Right Early Learning Program

Identify Your Family’s True Needs

Every family’s situation is different. Start by thinking about what matters most for your child and for your family’s schedule. Consider:

  • Your child’s age and developmental needs
  • Any special health or learning considerations
  • Location, hours of operation, and transportation
  • Type of care, including free VPK programs, summer care programs, or before and after school care

Understanding your priorities up front can help narrow your search and make the next steps much easier.

Explore Care Options

Once you know what you’re looking for, it’s time to explore available providers! We can help you explore early learning programs across Sarasota County and compare important details, such as:

  • Services for children with special needs
  • Licensing, accreditation, and compliance history
  • Staff qualifications and training

If you’d like extra support, our team is available to help guide your search and answer questions along the way.

Visit & Select a Quality Early Learning Program

Visiting programs in person can help you decide what truly “clicks” for your child. As you tour, pay attention to the learning environment, teacher interactions, and safety practices.

A Quality Checklist can help you compare programs and ask the right questions so you can choose with absolute confidence.

Interactions Matter! The state of Florida uses the Classroom Assessment Scoring System, known as CLASS® to measure positive teacher-child interactions in a child care setting. Assessments are performed by trained, certified observers and scores range from 1-7, with 7 as the highest.

Research shows higher CLASS® scores demonstrate better social-emotional, cognitive, and academic outcomes for a child.
